About Us
I received my certificate in Canine Nutrition (Cert.) in 2007 and started making my own raw dog food immediately. At first it was for the health of my two senior dogs who were diagnosed with Cushing Syndrome within two years of each other. I sought other alternatives to transitional medicine because the treatment for Cushing’s can be as I deadly as the condition. Both dogs lived several more years and the increase in their quality of life was significant.
We should all do our own research, get facts from reliable sources, and make our own decisions about the treatment of our companions. I am and always will be a raw feeder. I have seen the results in my own dogs and my customers dogs.
Assuming you have also made the decision to go raw you probably already know the challenges. Commercial raw or freeze-dried raw kills all the bacteria to reduce their risk. Good and bad bacteria is needed to build good gut flora. Home made dog food can be the worst or the best depending on balance. Balancing a meal is more complicated that you would think and can cause more harm than good.
I developed my ‘Everything but the Meat’ for people that want to make their own homemade dog food and supply their own trusted source of protein. I buy my vegetables and fruits from local farmers markets and freeze dry them for a stable shelf life. Added seeds, oils, and vitamins and minerals provide everything but the meat for a balanced meal.
